Professional Standards-Ethics Advocate Training

The Ethics Advocate Training is a live, interactive, three-hour class for professional standards committee members who are interested in becoming Ethics Advocates. Attendees will be provided key concepts needed to perform as an Ethics Advocate. Ethics Advocates are specially trained to represent the complainant or the respondent during the disciplinary process. Responsibilities may include preparation of forms and assembly of evidence as well as representation at the hearing, including making opening and closing statements on behalf of the party represented. They may also cross examine witnesses and introduce affidavits, documents and other relevant evidence. Attendees will receive an ethics Advocate Certification form stating they are qualified to act as Ethics Advocates in Association disciplinary proceedings.
